Figured this would be the place to put it. I was at work yesterday, getting towards the end of my shift, when the head of the pr dept. came out and asked me if I could come to her office for a few minutes. Obviously, my first thought was "what did I do that I'm about to get yelled at for". So I went down to her office, and she asked me to have a seat. She then hands me a piece of paper and says that I have been doing a great job and that I have earned a raise. This probably the happiest I've been in a very long time, so I figured I'd come here and brag about it .

Thanks for hearing me out...just wanted to post about it!.

I just found out that I haven't been getting paid as I should.
No wonder I go from pay check to pay check.

I'm owed over 10,000 from the last two years alone.
And I'm receiving it in a lump check.  half of it will go to taxes, of course, but still.....

I'm getting a raise!

Incidentally, they also had me listed as the wrong race.

awesome! I recently got a raise too and I found out through talking to people that I got 5% more than most of the rest of the staff which was awesome. I did change positions at about the same time I got my raise so I think that was part of it.

Still awesome to make more money no matter how much more it is.

Yep, I'm a teacher.

It wasn't anything I did, really.  I have a master's degree, but they only had me listed as having a bachelor's.  They had not a SINGLE paper in my file that was evidence of my master's, even though I know I sent it to them when I graduated.

She quickly interrupted me though to say that I WOULD be getting back pay... as though she was afraid I'd sue.  LOL
