Converting .ogm and .ssa to a single .avi

So I have some .ogm videos that have .ssa subtitle files included with them and I want to convert to a single .avi file for this whole video thing that Davideo is starting but I'm at a loss as to how to get it done.

The .ogm starts out as japanese with no subtitles so when I tried converting I got japanese with no subtitles, but I want english audio(subtitles don't really matter but I would like to have them at least as an option). Anyone with any ideas/programs that might be helpful please feel free to give me some advice.

Question, does the .ogm have the Japanese and Audio tracks embedded into it? As in, separate tracks for each audio?
I use a program called "SUPER".

But i generally use it to encode .mkv with a Japanese audio and English subtitles. (And it does a fantastic job).

I think this program will help.

I think so.... I haven't spent much time encoding video or audio tracks so I can't be 100% sure but I'll check out that program and see if it provides me more options.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but it won't actually convert the files.

I noticed there were 2 audio tracks and I picked the second one.... which is english. But I can't actually get it to convert the video.... it's late though and I'm sure I can get it to work I'm just tired right now. Any ideas you might have as to why it won't work are appreciated though.

I went back and tried the other program I had started with and realized there was a audio channel selection and an audio track selection. I picked the second audio track and now I'm getting the right audio out of it.
