I don't know if I need to re-download the emulator thing I downloaded to play the games or what! First I got pretty far in "Paper Mario", then out of no where it crashed! When I went to reopen the game to start playing again, my save file was gone! Then because I was pissed off, I had quit playing it and started "Mario Party 3" and in the middle of the game it crashed and did the same thing! I never had these problems with the Game boy Advance games, what the heck. Someone help me out please.

I would try reinstalling the plug-in... If that fails redownload the plug-in, and install. That should fix it.

I un installed it, then re downloaded it. I played paper Mario for like 7 straight hours, and got really far. This morning I woke up to play the game, my save file was gone again. I don't know if its the emulator that needs fixed or what. It started freezing last night while I was playing too.. Like I would be running, and it would just freeze for like thirty seconds, then go back to normal. It would do that every other 5 minutes towards the last hour I was playing. I honestly am done playing paper Mario for good now, because I am sick of repeating the first half of the game over and over again. I think that the emulator is crap and needs updated or something.

So does this happen on both emulators? Some changes to the emu settings for the 1964 emulator might fix it, but I'm not sure about the Mupen64Plus emulator.

Well no, the only time I had ever had a problem with save data on the game boy emulator was when I had my computer rebooted. But there really is no question about that, I know that was my fault. But it only happens on the Nintendo 64 emulator, It didn't save when I had tried to play Mario party 3, or Super Mario 64. There is a way to adjust it? Why wouldn't it already be adjusted to the right setting though?

Well I was asking about the problem on the N64 emulators, there's 2 available in the RGR: Mupen64Plus and 1964 - I wanted to know if the problem persists on the Mupen emulator.

The 1964 emulator was originally the only N64 emulator available in the RGR, and it has a preset configuration which can be modified to fix certain problems.

Oh, I figured that after I had already replied, but it wouldn't let me post again haha. I used the 1964 emulator, but its not saving. Then I tried using the Mupen one and I can stand the controls. I tried to configure the controls but couldn't figure out how. The 1964 is the one I would like to use but keeps messing up.

Yeah, Mupen doesn't support controller reconfiguration to my knowledge. Only 1964 can. There are ways around that if you use a controller, but if you're using a keyboard, you probably can't do anything about the controls unless your keyboard allows key remapping.

I've added the Europe version for Paper Mario, that might resolve the save file problem:
https://www.vizzed.com/play/paper-mario-(e)-n64-online-nintendo-64-64261-game

Also, Mupen64Plus does support save states, while 1964 doesn't, so if the native save are somehow not storing, the save states probably will.

So far its working, thank you! But also, what did you mean by "native" save state? I have never used the "F" buttons to save before this. Is that how I am supposed to save? Also, this version of Paper Mario does not have quite as many glitches and flashes, although it still has many. Just in case you wanted to know because the original Paper Mario on here has more glitches.

The native saves are in-games save files - save states are with the F2 key. So is the save file problem (native saves) resolved with the 1964 emulator for the Europe version?

I'll have to check later if the graphics can be improved, mainly was trying to fix the save problem.

Alright, so I just checked to see if my save file was there, and my "native file" was gone. But, my "F" button save file was still there! So I guess you fixed it! Thanks a ton!
