I dont think that is how it was intended to come out,i dont remember an outbreak in RE where it was the american goverment itself that caused it,it was always corrupted companies and in 4's case a religon,i always felt that it was more of a message about corrupted goverments and higher powers,that and the speech sort of fit Chris anyways,given his past.

*SIGH* Some people, really don't know when to keep their mouths shut. I have nothing against blacks, or anything, but this racist bit for Resident Evil 5 is ridiculous! It's about as dumb as that one Grand Theft Auto case. Those of you who've been around long should remember this, or maybe I'm remembering it wrong.

But from what I heard, some kids grandparent, bought the game, fore their grand kid, without even really looking at the box properly, just thought it would be a nice gift because it had sort of a cartoon cover. Man was that dumb! And the game industry was blamed for putting nasty stuff in the market! And I'll admit, some of the stuff is a bit of a stretch, but that's what age labels are for! It's not their fault that people don't pay attention.

So what did that have to do with Resident Evil 5? My point is, it doesn't take much, to make a opened stupid mouthed person, to open their opened stupid moth even wider. My mom doesn't really like me calling people stupid, but it's not my fault that's what they are, and I could be calling them a lot worse. But in any case, we've been considered raciest for years, I hate to say it, it's a never ending cycle really. You can't keep everyone happy, it's impossible, PERIOD! I feel sorry for those who just sit around, doing nothing really, other then just sitting there, looking for something to complain about. And some people just plain aren't happy unless their complaining about something.

It's a pity really, some people just love being miserable. Sounds crazy don't it? And some people just complain to get attention. So in short, people are willing to complain about anything, so the raciest thing really isn't all that knew. Now mind, I'm not saying I disagree with you, as a matter of fact, I agree with all of you! It just saddens me that people get upset over the smallest of things, and things that aren't even real. Some people really don't know how to spend their lives, other then just getting upset over the dumbest of things. Not very intelligent people.

Keep in mind that RE5's script was translated to english (so might as well be written) by Americans.
So you can't say that Chris' speech or the games script has American hate because of the Japanese.
People just like to complain and video games have always been a target, originally because it was something nerds liked.

That too, games haven't really been liked by certain parties for years. Ho oh brother! I just remembered something really stupid! Some years ago, when I was still fairly young, and back when we had regular television, and satellite at the same time I think.

A murder was committed with a sniper rifle, and I can't remember all of the details, but I remember he once served in the army! But, want to know what the news reporter said was a possible cause? From playing the game, Doom! Boy did I want to slap the female reporter around for being so dumb! First of all, you can't learn how to use a gun from playing games, pure and simple. And when she said game, I thought she was going to say, "Metal Gear Solid" because that used a sniper rifle, but Doom? Recap! Doom may use some real world weapons to an extent, but there are non real ones thrown in, like The B.F.G. for example. And I should bring to light that, Doom, or the early Doom games anyway, which is what I assume she's talking about, never, ever used a sniper rifle!

So in any case, and let me ask you guys this, do you think you can learn how to operate guns just from watching a game? Or movie for that matter?

I don't think any of us can learn how to use a gun from watching a game, but that's not saying we can't learn how to use guns, I own a small pump action rifle, which can hold a fair amount of bullets. And I have a single shot rifle, one bullet, one shot, then pull out empty shell, then put knew one in. Now if I had played a game where these two guns were used, before I got these guns, I don't think I would be able to use them just with that information, such as I wouldn't know which lever to open the chamber to put the bullets in.

But yeah, people have been after games for years, while completely over looking a lot of the stuff that gets put into movies nowadays. It's really kind of pathetic on how the movie industry has gotten over the years, but I'm not going to be surprised when it finally goes belly up. While I admit that there are still good movies coming out that I want to see, but there are still a lo of chunk that are coming out, that I'm willing to bet, no one wants to see. The movie industry says that they are doing better then the gaming industry. Um, yeah right, get off your high horse, pal! The gaming industry has been incredibly well over the years, and it keeps getting better. And with games now a days, you pretty much are playing a movie you can interact with, because of how well the story is, the characters act, like Metal Gear Solid for example. They day games and movies mixed together I say when that game was released, and it was thanks to my brother's love for the series that I was introduced to it.

So in short, a lot of people would like to see the gaming industry fall, but that ain't gonna happen, because there are many more people who love it, then hate it. So it's best just to ignore the complaining person, they'll go away once they realize no one really gives a darn to what they say. They expect you to say something, and if you react, then it will create a snowball effect from there. Trust me, I've seen this happen enough times to know what I'm talking about, this is years of experience talking.

Sometimes i feel people just worry about things they shouldnt really and when they make a judment you have to remember its coming from there perspective and point of view people take in what they see the wrong way like for example i see someone fall i might laugh and call him a dmmy someone else mght say oh is he okay someone else might say why did he trap and what did he trip on...MY POINT IS PEOPLE SEE THINGS AND JUDGE QUICK NOW IF WE JUST LOOK A LITTLE CLOSER WE WOULD REALIZE HE DIDNT TRIP HE WAS SLIDDING AND DID IT ON PURPOSE..

Well in re4 there was killing of spanish people and no one cared but when africans came into play it became a issue.I'm multiracial btw.

I'm sick of the media saying that RE4 and RE5 are racist because you shoot some Spanish and African guys.

Number 1: The story is set in SPAIN and AFRICA. It wouldn't make a lot of sense for you to be shooting anything else other than Spanish and African people.

Number 2: What about all of the games before that when you were shooting white guys? No one called that racist. Is white not a race?

Number 3: The people who first said that these games are racist were doing nothing but looking for a reason to down these games. That's what the media does. They look for things to complain about so they can cause other people misery so they can make money.

its just video games' turn is all. Movies had a turn,TV,cartoons,music,Dungeons and Dragons, and many more things have all had their turn at being the scapegoat. It will pass eventually like all things do, I just hope its sooner than later. But this whole racists thing is just stupid, its like the whole Jynx thing in pokemon.

XxChaosxX : I absolutely agree. The first what? 3 games and all of the spin off ones had you killing only white zombies and it was fine. But as soon as African zombies, in AFRICA mind you, showed up it's all of a sudden racist. So what if the next ones takes place in Japan and your killing Japanese people? Is that Racist? No. People just sit there and try to find something to b**** about to make themselves feel important or just to start a bunch of crap.

EDIT: Just found out that the game creator hinted at RE6 being set in London but that won't be considered racist because we'll only be killing white people and they don't count like in RE1-RE3+side games.

I have played RE5 with 3 different black people and not one of them stopped while playing and said "wow this is racist". The allegation is laughable, it just shows you that there are special interest groups that speak for people they do not really represent.

This game isn't racist. The games where you kill white people are. As a white person, I am so disgusted by the fun other white people have killing white people.

i see the problem as x play's fault. They made a huge deal about it and really there was not really an issue

I dont think its being racist,you figure all the older RE games were all american,so now there bringing new cultures to the series,i could be wrong though,but there still fun to play.
