On top of that, the audio lags while I'm playing the game itself when using Mednafen, though it may just be because I haven't installed the optional plugin yet.

Alright, I downloaded the plugin and tried recording with medafen, but it's only letting me save it as an .mov file, which none of my media players are able to play other than the audio. I even tried downloading Quicktime, and it still says I need some sort of codec to be able to run more than just the audio. Is there any way I can save it as a .avi file like I had been previously, and if not what kind of codec should I be looking for?

DocRetro : You can use Freemake Video Converter to convert to view it or to convert it. You can upload it to youtube with no problem though, youtube will convert it automatically and make it viewable by everyone.
