Okay, so. I was planning on playing through Pokemon Green. However, I have no idea what Emulator to use to play it. Green is listed under the NES on GYR. So which emulator should I use? Links to the recommended emulators would be extremely helpful.

To answer your question Ktanaqui, you would want to use JNES. I personally found that to be the best emulator for NES IMO. However, the one listed on the site bombchu posted, is terribly out-dated. I'd recommend going to Jabosoft (google) and get it there instead. Current version as of right now is 1.1

That being said, Pokemon Green was never released on the NES. If there is a version for the NES, it would be a fan-made ROM/Hack. The one that was released by Nintendo themselves would be for the GameBoy. If this is the one you are seeking, I'd suggest you use VisualBoyAdvance-M.

VisualBoyAdvance-M is exactly the same as VisualBoy Advance just updated with bug fixes/improvements. Seeing how this isn't listed on that website, here is a site where you can find the up-to-date (SVN) version of the emulator.

http://www.emucr.com/search/label/GBA?&max-results=12

NOTE: If you don't find the VisualBoyAdvance-M on first page, just go to the next page. It should be within the first 2-3 pages. Hope this helps

I would have to say that FCEUX is the best NES emulator by far. If you wanna do NES emulation, that's my recommendation.

That said, Pokemon Green shouldn't be a NES game, as drdaylight pointed out. Pokemon Green was released in Japan for the original Gameboy. In the United States, it was renamed to Pokemon Blue for its US release. There's also a GBA release of the remake, Pokemon LeafGreen. If you want to play Gameboy or Gameboy Advance games, I would have to agree that some version of VisualBoy Advance is your go-to emulator.

I'm trying not to laugh at the errors in the searches on G-Y-R. This is the NES result (which is G-Y-R's 1st search result from Google:
http://www.get-your-rom.com/download/nes/pokemon-green-rom/unl

That is an unlicensed game for NES. This is an old thread, but anyways, the answer is get-your-rom.com doesn't have the rom for game boy. At least, the section doesn't seem to have it:
