One of the best though is U-four-ia.

castlevania is my all time favorite NES game, and if you really enjoy it all the rest are great too, the ones for the DS are amazing, stay away from the 3d one for the N64 and PS2 though, they're not that great, although the new one thats in development looks promising

MegaMan 3, although really, pretty much any of the first six MegaMan games.They were all awesome, but 3 for me is the outstanding winner. Each game had something different and unique going for it. 1 introduced the series, 2 revamped and modernized the series, 3 took 2's revamp and kickedd off the MegaMan world... And so on.
