So it's that time again Hollywood is remaking another video game into a movie. This time it's Silent Hill. Silent Hill has been one of my favorite horror games ever since I had a PS1 and it still is to this day on my 360 with the collectors edition. I know a lot of people hated the first film cause it didn't match the first movie, I agree it was similar and did not match, But if you look at all the Silent Hill games they are each different stories with different people and sometimes different places. This one though is supposed to be a direct story from Silent Hill 3, so that's what has me worried. But hey its a movie based on a game and I'm going to a movie theater with moving chairs with it so I'm going to have fun with it.

So what is your opinion guys do you like seeing video game movies yes or no? And why?  

I honestly do not see how this is supposed to be a reflection of the Third Silent Hill game. It has Pyramid Head in it. Makes no sense. I think the movie makers don't even realize what Silent Hill even is supposed to be. The appearance of the town is different for everyone who enters it because the town reflects the individual person's psychology through symbolic monsters.

For example, in Silent Hill 2, James was seeing all these monsters and twisted things with the environment. The little girl, Laura, was the only innocent person in the game. Because of that, she could not see any monsters or anything wrong with the town. Because of this, she was safe from any supernatural dangers. The town appears certain ways for different people depending on their own inner demons. 

Pyramid Head was the manifestation of Jame's wish to be punished for his wife's death. That is why Pyramid Head was not a character in any other ORIGINAL Silent Hill games. He only appeared in Silent Hill Homecoming because it was to draw in the fans because he became somewhat of an icon since his debut in Silent Hill 2. The fact that he was in the first Silent Hill movie made it clear that they don't understand what the town actually is. The fact that he is in the 2nd Silent Hill movie just makes it more obvious. Even more so when they are trying to say that it will reflect the 3rd game. Him being in there already makes that not so because he was a monster specifically for James.

I might watch the film when it is available for $1.20 on the RedBox machines, but I won't go out of my way to watch it before then. That is unless someone I trust in matters such as these strongly recommends I see it.

I felt the same, i was really annoyed at how they destroyed the 1sts plot etc. The game was one of my favourites and the film really just kicked it.
Repeatedly.

Before the saturday morning cartoon comes out, I am so waitng for the Pyramid head goes to Hawaii: The electric bogaloo.
