So yeah, I downloaded the ePSXe 1.7.0 emulator and I was playing PE (Parasite Eve) for the PSX when I reached a part where it said "Insert DISC 2".

I would like to know, how do I make the game start after I change the DISC? How do I change the DISC?

This option is built into the menu. File -> Change Disc

If you're mid-game, you might hafta hit ESC or something to return to the menu or whatever the pause emulation button is (I haven't used ePSXe in a long time).

I've never used this feature in this emulator, but I would expect one of two things to happen.

1. It recognizes you swapped discs mid-emulation and asks whether or not you wish to restart. DO NOT restart the emulator if it asks this. That will cause you to lose progress.

or

2. It does absolutely nothing, in which case, go to Run -> Continue and if everything goes well, the game recognizes the disc change and lets you proceed as normal.

Crazy Li : I tried both steps; File -> Change Disc -> ISO = Continued showing the Insert DISC 2 screen
Run -> Continue after changing the disc = Same as above.

Any other solutions?

soxfan845: Can you help me?

Most games want you to hit a button on that screen once you've changed the discs to let the game know you've done it and are ready. Did you try pressing anything to get the game to actually check for the disc you changed to? Also, did you make sure that you picked the correct ISO when switching?

Unfortunately, I've never had to deal with this because I don't have multi-disc PS1 ISOs. Well... actually, I do have one, but I never got far enough in the game to get to the disc change.

This might sound stupid but as Crazy Li asked, did you choose Parasite Eve [Disc 2]?

Just making sure you have both ISOs.

Crazy - Yes, I tried to press all the buttons and the game did not respond.
tRIUNE - ... I am not blind.

Crazy and tRIUNE - No more need for help, I apreciate your atempt, but I found the solution of this problem, I'll put it below and I will edit the first post of this thread.

In order to change discs, it is required that you download the older version of the ePSXe (ePSXe 1.6.0), due to the fact the newer version of the PSX emulator don't change discs at all, probably a development problem or a glitch, whatever.

The 1.6.0 PSX emulator should ONLY be used to swap discs, since the quality of the gameplay with that emulator is bad compared to the 1.7.0 version.

In order to swap the discs, do the following steps:

1 - Save at the nearest possible place of the disc change time when you are playing with the 1.7.0 version.
2 - Export the 1.7.0 emulator outside the Winrar folder, if it is inside a Winrar folder; it is easier to access and easier to save your game progress, without much risks of losing the game progress (you forget to click the Yes on the menu that appears after closing the emulator and click No inside the Winrar folder, power get cut off all of a sudden, etc) and it's better to move the memcard files.
3 - Download the ePSXe 1.6.0 emulator version (link will be given below), it will be used to make the disc swap.
4 - Export the ePSXe 1.6.0 launcher files outside the Winrar folder and get rid of the suicidal files that come along with the emulator (delete.me, erase.me, destroy.me, remove.me, kill.me, punch.me, etc).
5 - Create a folder for the 1.6.0 emulator, and put all of it's files inside.
6 - COPY all of the folders of the 1.7.0 version into the 1.6.0 version including the memcard folder, since the 1.7.0 have the necessary files to make the 1.6.0 work.
7 - Configure the 1.6.0 (it shouldn't take long) and the controls, then start the game you wish to change discs.
8 - After loading the game, select the in-game option "Load", "Continue" or anything else that means you can continue the game from your last save data, move to the part where the Insert Disc N (N = Number) appears.
9 - With the Insert Disc N showing, press the ESC button to minimize the game, then click on Files, Change Disc, ISO if it's a downloaded file or CD-Rom if it is a CD, then select the disc you wish to swap to.
10 - After doing the process 9, it should show that the disc is loading, if it works, go into the next save point of the game and save your game, after sucessfully saving your game data, press the ESC button again to minimize the game, then go to Files, Exit, to close both the emulator and the game.
11 - After closing the emulator, move the memcard files back to the 1.7.0 version.
12 - Open the game and load your file to continue enjoying the game you are playing, and to get the continuation of the game story
13 - There is no step 13 (Yes, I wanted to end this on the number 13).
