I have got to say my favorite starter is Cyndaquill, with Mudkip close behind. Typhlosion is beast and Cyndaquill was the starter I picked the first time I played Pokémon.

Loads of people just pick fire types because they seem cool or tough but when you look closer at stats I think grass is better so my favourite would probably be snivy or turtwig.

My favorite starter is Torchic because it is my 4th favorite Pokémon of all time but Chikorita has a really close spot in my heart because it was my first starter and Squirtle also has a special place because I was a Squirtle in mystery dungeon and my starter in every Kanto game I played.

Well, it's a really hard decision for me. Charmander was my first ever starter, but while charizard is epic, it doesn't do so well because of it's typing. Cyndaquil is my favorite fire starter for it being the only pure fire type, and I've been picking the grass type starters since then. Heck I'm probably going to get Chespin. As such its a tie between cyndaquil, treecko, and totodile(favorite water starter). Out of practicality probably treecko since Sceptile has the best move pool and also out of all of them, the best one to stand up competitively.

Well I prefer Pokemon starters from Kanto, Johto and Sinnoh regions and my favorite from each would be Charmander, Tootidile, and Pinplup. They have a very good movepool (at least in Generation 5) and Typhlosion has the exact same base stats as Charizard, so in competitive battling, Typhlosion won't take as much damage from the Stealth Rock than Charizard would (he's got less weaknesses too).

My favorite pokemon starter type of all time would have to be Totodile in Poemon gold or Crystal since later on as it evolves it will turn into Feraligatr which can learn the move of Bite and the move of Crunch which is pretty epic to me and I just love it since it is a blue alligator.
