for all of you actually know what metal is Have you ever thought about a band you really liked and they were kinda an old band for example Metallica, don't sometimes you wish the band would kinda modern-ise them selves? Now Metallica did but like say, Poison
they are about the same age as Metallica but yet they still play "Unskinny Bop" like it is still 1984 it's not metal modern-ise please.

your opinion please tell. i feel strong and confident in my saying ask and i will explain some things.

Note:Metallica and Poison both Suck BALLS

Perhaps I'm being silly here, but I've found that metal has branched into such a huge variety of subgenres that's hard to say what is and isn't among them. I'll admit right now that the oldest I have on me is likely my one Led Zeppelin track, but they were before the eighties. : | There's a particular element that all of these subgenres have that keeps them in the parent genre of metal, but I wouldn't be able to properly tell you what it was, because sometimes it's felt more than heard.

I'm a fan of all different kinds of metal, but what I seem to pursue the most is symphonic metal, and then industrial right behind it, whose roots appear to stem from the late eighties and early nineties. So they already bore a different sound from classic heavy metal bands to begin with. =/

I like Metallica, but I prefer old Metallica (though Death Magnetic is okay).

In general, I think that old metal bands were good they way they were. If they can find a way to come up with new material that is actually good then that is great, but too many times bands try to copy some new fad that just does not work with the singers vocals... like when Styxx tried to go punk... just wrong.

Now, personally I prefer power metal, progressive metal and symphonic metal. I used to like death metal but honestly the screaming s*** just got old, I'd rather be able to understand what the singer is saying when he sings. So yeah, I listen to stuff like Symphony X, Nightwish, and Iced Earth. I do like mainstream artists as well, like Marilyn Manson and Rammstein... though I did not like Manson's last album.
