So, I know there are TONS of classical movies, and sometimes I'm a bit shocked at which ones my students have or have not seen.

I can't say too much about it without being hypocritical though:  I JUST watched Psycho for the first time in my life!

Granted, it was one of the newer versions, but only because the original one was not available on netflix.

I have to say I was quite surprised!  Everything I had always assumed about the movie was completely false!  Except for the very cheap 'violent' scenes, it was much better than I had anticipated!

Any other 'late bloomers' out there who just watched a classic recently, and for the first time?  If so, what were your thoughts on that classic?

EDIT:  I need to be a bit clear on my post, so here is the actual question:

What were your expectations on a classic you saw?  How were those met or not met?

I expected the classic movie "Of Mice and Men" to not be that good (cause the book was kind of boring in my opinion, thou it was very good). The movie was just great. I actually got into the movie (I don't want to spoil the movie so I won't post what happened, all I can say is find the movie and watch it...just not the one if the guy who played Leutanent Dan from Forrest Gump).
