I was wondering if this game has the same problems as the other Pokemon games, because I don't want to waste my time if I just end up stuck at the Elite 4. Is it possible to continue playing after defeating them?

Well, yea. After the Elite Four, you get the national pokedex, which lets you catch or evolve Pokémon(Golbat into Crobat) that are from generations I-III. Other than that, you have the Sevii Islands to explore, after you have at least 40 complete pokedex entries.

Lol. I didn't mean the game Pokemon itself. I meant like how when using online Pokemon games, sometimes, due to some save misread or something, you cannot continue playing after defeating the Elite 4. This used to happen about two or so years ago on Vizzed, but I haven't played much Pokemon (outside of the card games which seem to not have any problems) since.
