Although the Super Nintendo had some great games, I have to give it to the PlayStation 1. I am an avid RPG gamer, and the PlayStation 1 generation spawned some of the greatest titles in history. Super Nintendo did have some great RPGs, don't get me wrong; it just didn't have nearly as many. Not to mention, Nintendo has went downhill on appealing to it's fanbase. Although the other console developers try to appeal more to their original fanbases, they all have begun to produce more gap-fillers than games of actual quality. Those quality games still do exist, but they seem far and in between compared to the previous generations.

For what it's worth, my favorite consoles personally are probably the PS2 and the SNES, because those are the ones I've played the most and have gotten me through years of boredom. =)
