I'm trying to download a not-so-well-known browser called Phaseout. I try to download it but Avast says it has a trojan. Is it just avast? Will one of you(with a different AV)download Phaseout(just the installer) and scan it to see if it's a trojan? Thanks. Download Phaseout here.

You don't need to post a thread for every little piece of Malware you might/might not have discovered. :/

Here is how you simply solve any kind of this kind of problem.

1. Make sure the file is under 10MB. If not, go to Step 6.
2. Turn off all avast On-access scanners. If this effs up your computer somehow, go to Step 6.
3. Download File.
4. Upload file to Here.
5. If no other scanners but Avast say that it is a trojan/virus/whatever, then Avast has a false positive OR it detects something. See below for the OR thing, and an example.
6. If you are at this step before solving the problem in step 5, go to step 7.
7. Break down into the fetal position and begin to cry.
8. ????
9. PROFIT!

Here's an example of what I mentioned above, I once downloaded a certain Add-on to UT3. The installer (Supposedly) was packaged in an installer that was widely used for Malware and whatnot. It detected it as such. It was not.

Side note: (My browser things that Malware is a wrong spelling? Lol!)

Nope. Not OCD. I just love testing browsers. I find it fun. For some reason, PhaseOut needs flash player 6...and the newest version is 10!!!! I uninstalled PhaseOut.

I'm thinking it was a s***ty browser. Anyway, just stick with the ones you know about, the other ones (like phaseout) probably suck
