So,I would like opinions of both people in band and not in band.Do you think Band is tough?Marching,contests, etc.Many people underestimate just how hard band really is, They call us nerds.But really, no one knows just how tough it is until they are in it.

As a non-band person, I will admit that band is tough. If your doing Marching band then its even tougher. But that is my opinion and like I said I don't know a lot about band so a person in band would know.

I always say that ban is easy when talking to my friends, but deep inside i know that band is hard is not really an opinion it should be a fact. Especially when you have to march and play at the same time. I mean you have to walk in a orderly fashion while playing the right music notes.

I use to take band class in middle school, but never march around. Learning all the notes, beat measures, and all the other stuff is really difficult even you have a good music teacher.

Oh band is -definitely- tough!
I remember when I was in high school.  I LOVED band, but it definitely took a lot of effort. I had to practice for hours to play my pieces, and even to keep my chair!

When marching was introduced? I wasn't good enough to handle it.  I struggled big time to juggle the marching steps while memorizing my music and playing it all at the same time.  It takes a great amount of skill and time.  If you're taking a lot of hard classes, I'd carefully consider taking it or not taking it.

I've been in band once!  I played the oboe.  In my opinion, playing the oboe is a super tough instrument, especially while marching because it's really easy to break the reed.  I think it's amazing when people can do both at the same time.  I couldn't memorize the music, let alone memorize where to move...  Band shouldn't be considered nerdy/dorky, because people in band are just like everyone else, they have a basic life like everyone else...
