I believe that if Oakland goes up against  the Yankees in a 1 game playoff or in a series, they will win. I think if they went up against Baltimore in a series, they will have an easier time handling them. My opinions were based on Yankees winning the division, and Texas winning the division in my previous posts.

bobq :  Well I believe that Oakland Athletics will have a hard time beating both, since they are in the top of the wild cards. We need to wait and see the result. If Oakland lose today that mean they are either facing them.

If the A's and O's win out, and the Red Sox win even ONE game against the Yankees, then the most convoluted system ever would be used to determine s***.

Well I posted a link that tells you how the division tie breakers work.

It said that the Yankees and Oriels would play a 1 game face off to determine the division king on October 4th. The other team would face Oakland in the wild card 1 game playoff to see who gets into the ALDS on October 5th.

I am really, really hoping that Baltimore beats Tampa Bay and Boston beats New York tonight.

The games start at 7pm eastern.

If that happens, then Baltimore and New York will have to play an extra game to decide who wins the division.

Actually, Oakland won their division, so it will be Baltimore vs Texas in the AL wild card game.

I believe the winner will face New York.

So Oakland will beat Detroit I believe, so it will be interesting to see how the wild card game goes, and how the Yankees handle the winners.

I think facing Detroit will make Oakland's path to the World Series easier, since they won't have to play both Texas and New York.

I was hoping to watch a wild card game tomorrow night, but that doesn't appear to be happening, so I will have to wait until Friday.

I hope Baltimore wins, but I don't see them beating the stacked Texas offense. I believe Yu Darvish will be pitching for Texas, which makes things ever more difficult for Baltimore. Baltimore are grinders though, so they should make the game interesting. I am really hoping for extra innings.

I heart stopped when I saw this. Anyway, I am a die hard Cardinal's fan. I do believe that they have a chance to beat the Braves in the Wild Card game, but the odds are slightly in the favor of them. If they are lucky enough to win, then Washington should end up beating them. I do believe the question is "Can Washington keep it up?" I'm not sure if they will choke or not, but I do believe they are the team to go to the World Series from the National League. Cincinnati should beat the Giants. Their bullpen is too good and their offense hasn't been that bad. Now onto the American League. I watched the Athletics beat the Rangers earlier, and all I can say is I hope that team wins. I think that Baltimore should beat Texas in the Wild Card. Baltimore, I do believe, has came out of nowhere and put together a decent team. Oakland will beat Detroit, even though they will be facing the Triple Crown Winner Cabrera. I prey Baltimore beats New York. I can not stand the Yankees. Get the heck out of here. Between Baltimore and Oakland, I think I would rather have Baltimore win. So I'm predicting a Baltimore and Washington World Series. The winners. How about Washington in 6 games. I have spoken!!!

Interesting prediction.

Ironically enough, I predicted that Baltimore and Washington would be the teams to choke and go home early. I am surprised that people think that Texas will lose to Baltimore. I simply think that the Texas offense is too deep and they have Yu Darvish pitching, which will prove to be very challenging for Baltimore to top.

I do want the Yankees to lose to. They have had their glory days many times over and need to give others a chance. I believe that the Reds are in for a gritty post season that sees them grind out win after win on route the a World Series Championship. I believe that no one can beat the Oakland Athletics more than once in a series. But I believe that the Reds will match Oakland hit for hit in the World Series and sneak by with a couple wins by 1 run. I believe that those wins will be the difference in a best of 7 series.

The Os haven't made the playoffs in 15 years or something like that so it mainly wishful thinking.

It is still possible though. I mean, they did make it this far, and they did push the Yankees to the brink of losing the division.

It is the post season... anything can happen.
