I'd have to say I usually love fire types due to them being very offensive, dark types since they since they seem to have good resistances and immunities, and fighting to give an advantage against the normal type that MUST be on the first few routes. Also dragon types are usually a pain to train.

Honestly, I would like to see some more psychic Pokémon, as the usual starters can get old fairly quickly. Dragons would cause the game to be far too easy in the beginning than what it already is, as dragon types tend to be slightly overpowered.
