That is kind of hard, I really like Deception and I also really enjoyed playing Deadly Alliance so one of those would probably be my answer, I didn't care for Mortal Kombat Vs. DC though the fatalities killed the game for me and it just wasn't series to me either. I did really like the newer reboot of Mortal Kombat though it was very interesting.

I agree that with mr.pace that Shaolin Monks was the best quality MK game ever. But my only problem is that I never got to play as Scorpion (who is my favorite character btw) so I'm gonna say the old school MK games

In my opinion, either Mortal Kombat 2(which improved a lot of the original's strong points IMO) or Mortal Kombat 2011(Which made me remember why I loved the series for its tight controls, bloody fatalities, and difficult campaign).
