I'm making my own contests called Super Score Contest. It's a special contest where you get to play a couple of different games from one series and try to earn a high score in each one which later then I would add up the scores to make a super score! To start off the contest it is going to revolve around the sonic series. So the games are going be....

Sonic the hedgehog 1 at SAGE 2010
Sonic 1 Megamix 3.0
Sonic the hedgehog 2
Sonic the hedgehog 3 (only this game you can save)
Sonic and Knuckles
Sonic CD

Here are the rules!
-Complete each zone in under 6:30
-No save states (games have to be played in Highscore mode)
-Don't write your score down just submit a screenshot of your scores
-Your screenshots needs to show you defeating the final boss
-You can submit multiple scores as you want but if your new scores are higher than your old ones then they would be replaced with the new ones
-+35,000 points for collecting all chaos emeralds/time stones.(Must show screenshot of ending not doing so points won't be added)
-Finally have fun!

If you want to compete just let me know and I'll write you down but there's going to be a 165 Viz fee! (I don't have enough Viz to give out)
I am also competing so you guys better watch out. The competition will run until Nov.2nd but I will try and keep you guys up to speed on the competition.

Rewards:

1st-5,000 Viz
2nd-2,000 Viz
3rd-500 Viz

I think a fastest time thread would do better, like this.

Fastest time to complete green hill zone act 1 and 3

Fastest time to complete emerald hill zone act 1 and 2

ect. ect. ect.

That would be better you know, these are just my thoughts, It is still your competition. And you can run it the way you want. (you are handing out the Viz after all.)  (:

How can you make sure that they don't? Even if they did you can't PROVE that they did!

firewave2981: But they could get away with it, that's what I'm saying (Sonic highscore competition's have so many loopholes.)  And they could fiddle with the time and score until they got the desired results. . .

firewave2981 : it is 99% identical. The game has 'full game mode' where you play through the game and must beat it without a single death! Just try to load a savestate and wham! you hit the NO WAY screen from Sonic and Knuckles! There is no Debug mode (I can guarantee this 100%) and because there can be no deaths, there can be no grinding! This is THE GAME for highscore competitions!

bombchu link : for SAGE i think its ok to submit your score after you die since you do get one life so yeah you don't have to beat the game to submit your score
