This is true, of course You have things like Steam around, but I guess what I'm saying is for such a site to exist there could be a year limit. Say you accept games up to a certain year on the website.

I only had one tycoon game, and that was the original Zoo Tycoon game.  I actually got the DS game for it too.  Of course the PC game is better than the DS version of the game, but I love these games.  It always brings out the creativity in me.  It always made me really sad when I went to the opposite corner of the whole zoo lot, because it means I won't be able to build anymore.  I've had a lot of troubles with the game though, like as in donations for your exhibit.  Sometimes I would get like over 10 thousand dollars in donations for one exhibit, and an older one wouldn't have any donations.  What the heck?  I should have tried roller coaster tycoon games.  Maybe I can get one at a used video game store or something like that.

Actually depending on where you live, you can just rent it from the local library, burn a copy of it, then return it. That's what we did for Roller Coaster Tycoon, haha.

Well, depending how much you're willing to spend... it's actually pretty cheap. You can get RCT3 from Steam for like $20. I love the RCT games because of the fact that, unlike with Zoo Tycoon, fees can be charged for the rides and people like to ride them constantly. And with RCT3, you can have Animal Exhibits now too. It's not as detailed as Zoo Tycoon though.

KG :

That's cheating :o
I actually never figured out how to get that method to work for me.

Any and all 64 Bit PCs can support 32 Bit. They just can't support 16 Bit or 8 Bit. So you should be able to run them regardless.

shawnfawn :

That's pretty cool. And yea, by Atari. I have the Platinum edition :3 It has both the expansions, which is epic.

rollercoaster tycoon those games take me back so far back to when i was 12 i remember playing them and having 3 different accounts i only actually finished two levels on the other ones i did like half and quit basically because i just played those games for fun and i didn't really care because sometimes it got boring and because it was kinda easy for me to beat the levels so i figured what's the point of finishing this level i know im gonna win anyway.

I remember playing Rollercoaster Tycoon years ago (the original) and thinking it was pretty neat... what first got me into it was the game Theme Park for the PS1. I really used to love that game as a kid. Rollercoaster Tycoon basically took that and made it better.

I also went on to play Zoo Tycoon which was neat... but then it got out of hand... Lemonade Stand Tycoon, Railroad Tycoon... I don't think I can play any of these spin-offs.

I did return to the series not too long ago when I found Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 + the 2 expansion packs bundled together for just 30 bucks. Sounded like a steal to me. I LOVE the water park options that they have in the "Wet" expansion pack. Really makes fooling with it fun.

I'm probably not any good at designing coasters, but I'm really good at management. I breezes through the first several scenarios I've played, though I got distracted by other games as I always do and forgot to continue >.>

As far as the RCT3 Platinum goes, I have to completely restart my progress because I was playing on a different computer before I got my laptop, so... I have to re-do everything on my laptop. Because of that, I've been playing Sandbox mode only. It's a crapton of fun. But yea, the first several campaign levels were insanely easy. I think I was like four or five before the end of the first campaign before it actually got anywhere near difficult.

You should play, build a park, take some photos, and show it off!

Roller Coaster Tycoon is one of those games you can literally sit down for hours and play without a break. I enjoy playing it a lot.

Ktanaqui : I don't suppose you still have access to that computer you played on previously? If you did, it would be possible to move your save data to the new one to resume.

When I do go back, I might start recording videos of some of the custom coasters I make... though I'm not very good at all at designing them. Example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjNycVP4xnE

Technically, I do. However, the Power Supply in it is out. So. I'd have to take the hard drive and plug it into another desktop - and my parents won't let me do that. So, I have to wait for them to fix it. Because of that, I'm better off just re-doing everything.

And that coaster is actually pretty good. Making coasters that the peeps will tolerate is really difficult.

I just make whatever looks fun to me. So lots of loops and spirals. As long as the coaster can actually complete the track without getting stuck, it's a victory to me... though it's kinda neat to make one that can't get up a slope, then falls back down and travels backwards to go all the way back through the track to the start.

You know - they have Coaster designs specifically for that. (lol) I like that Coaster that you made. My biggest problem with making Coasters is that I make them too big - not compact, so there is a lot of wasted room. That coaster you made doesn't seem to have that issue.

I had the same problem at first. I would just make my tracks these giant ovals that took up a massive amount of space... and then when I tried to port them into a park, I'd never have room. I started practicing designing in-park under the scenarios which forced you to have to do things in limited space. There, I learned to do stuff like make my track go under higher levels and wrap around and stuff to get more track in less physical space. You hafta do a lot of curving and going back and forth through the middle and stuff to work something out that isn't too big. Even that one in the video is too big to fit into some scenarios though. I'm still learning how to make them compact.
