For some computers, the RGR Plugin will boot to a black screen for Sega Genesis and Sega CD. This is due to a prior update to the RGR Plugin, to fix it you will have to switch your monitor's color bit depth to 16 bit.

Instructions for each operating system are as follows:

Windows 7 (Category View)

Windows Vista (Classic View)

Windows XP

tRIUNE : I have also noticed that the Sega systems will not center the Game on the screen. only 75% of the screen is visible on my laptop. Is it possible to fix that?

bombchu link : That might be due to the zoom level of your browser. When the game is open try clicking on the web page and press the Ctrl and 0 (zero) keys to reset the zoom, then click back on the game window. Could also adjust the zoom with Ctrl and + or Ctrl and -, or Ctrl and the mouse wheel.

If that's not the problem try setting your screen resolution to a higher or lower setting, or try a different browser. Or if you're using Mednafen you can set it to full screen with Alt and Enter.

Thanks for the explanation, I was going to post a complaint about the fact that the emulator didn't work properly while I was playing Silpheed for Sega CD.  I will make note of this.

red ninja : Yeah, the Mednafen emulator won't have this problem. But this is due to the default emulator which the RGR Plugin is built on for either Sega Genesis or Sega CD (I don't think it's a problem with other Sega systems than those). The problem is with a update to the RGR Plugin which was an attempt to correct this problem for some computers -- while some computers who didn't have the problem before the update now have the problem.

Anyway I'm just going to close this now.
