Something she wouldn't forget, (cupcakes spelling out homecoming, a cute song, etc.) 
Make it cute (send a picture with a poster of you asking her to homecoming)
DON'T:
Procrastinate!  That's a bad idea!!!
make it too short, (A facebook message probably won't cut it...  I would shoot someone down if they sent me something like that)
