This is a common discussion I have with my friends. What is the best movie trilogy? Or your favorite trilogy?
The common choices are : Star Wars (original), Star Wars (prequels), The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, Batman (Nolan), The Godfather, Terminator, Toy Story, The Bourne Trilogy, Indiana Jones, Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Westerns, Alien, Pirates of the Caribbean, Die Hard, X-Men, Spider-man, Mad Max, Evil Dead, Austin Powers, Blade, Hannibal, etc..

There are more options but these are the most common ones I hear.
And of course my pick is..... The original Star Wars trilogy. It can not be denied that Star Wars made the trilogy an achievement that every director strives for. Not to mention that Star Wars is amazing!

Lord of the Rings. I feel it took the best possible direction in story and cinematography. It had marvelous shots of New Zealand which helped to keep the story focused in one direction. The more I saw the more I was pleased. It was one of those movies that seemed to Intensify the more it went on. The story was already amazing so love how Peter Jackson was able to piece it together. Amazing Trilogy!!

It depends on my mood, but currently i have to say the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy. Phenomenal. In fact, correct me if I'm wrong, but  I'm having a hard time coming up with a Nolan movie that wasn't good.........

I do love all those trilogy cause they are classics in there own special ways. My favourite trilogy though will have to be The Dark Knight Trilogy by Chris Nolan. He has changed the way of Batman forever. My other favourite would have to be Lord of the Rings cause Peter Jackson did change art direction, and cinematography forever in the 2000's.

As much as I love the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and I really, really do, I have to say that the best trilogy is the Dark Knight Trilogy. Each film just blew me away. Incredible acting, atmosphere, and of course action!
Despite that, If I weren't such a stickler for lore then I would probably rate LotR as the best. I just didn't like some of the changes PJ introduced. Ah well, still two of my favourite trilogies.

While I love the Lord of the Rings movies my favorite trilogy is the original Star Wars trilogy. However i could choose the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy after I see the Dark Knight Rises.

I reserve judgement until I see all three of the Hobbit Films but right now its no doubt in my mind that its the Lord of the Ring Trilogy. It seems that all the actors were truly dedicated to all three of the films and Jackson directed them marvelously. Special effects of course were outstanding.

I like The Lord of the Rings, Alien and Harry Potter Trilogies. Resident Evil kind of got bad but I still watch the movies every now and than. I didn't get a chance to watch the other movies after The Chronicles of Narnia : The Lion , The Witch and the Wardrobe I like that movie a lot.
