I dont know if anyone else has asked on here so i do not know if i am copying a thread or not but what is the best phone company to go to for long distance phoning/txt? I dont know how many there are so im just gonna say i live in canada just incase someone names a company not in my country . Oh and whats a good phone to use? Last phone i really used was like 4 years old and it was a cheap pay as u go flip phone    

I don't know about Canadian companies specifically, but I think I can be of some help anyway, since I can help you to figure out what to look for.

As I said, I don't know for Canada, but in the United States, most cell providers offer unlimited texting for very cheap, and I know there are some plans that are unlimited texting for under 50USD. Most of them also will give you a pretty decent phone for free if you sign up for a two year plan, or give you a massive discount on an expensive phone like an iPhone or Nexus.

Most providers don't charge for long distance calling within the same country, and even calling between the US and Canada is extremely cheap (at least, from the US to Canada is). Another thing you might want to look at is the data plan that comes with your line. It's become trendy for some reason to offer "unlimited" data that's unlimited, but really becomes unusable after say 5GB. You'll have to ask around about that.
