Last month or the month before that I saw Mars or Jupiter underneath Moon (Can't remember exactly when). Anyways it got me thinking. If I had a chance to name a planet/world what would it be? That's my questions to you. What would you name your planet/world? Why? I would name my planet "Verde Perihelion"  because love the color green and in my imagination I see the planet in conjunction to its Sun or star.

I'm moving this to Science so it can get the love it deserves.

Anyway, I don't think I could be very creative with naming a planet. I'd probably go with something silly like Eden or Paradise or something obvious like that.

I think Edan would sound like a good name. If I could visit the Planet in my imagination I named it would be like my garden of edan (even if has no life on it)

There seems to be a pattern to most planet names: Most planets are named after gods. For example, the planets of our solar system are named after Roman gods - Venus is the goddess of love, Mars is the god of war, etc. - so I would follow something along those lines.

I like Greek gods the best, so I would name my planet based on what was on the planet. If it had a lot of metals or lava, for example, I might name it for Hephaestus, god of fire and the forge, or if it was covered in water I would call it Poseidon.

Alternately, planets are also named for their discoverers, so I would name it after myself.

If it was an awesome planet covered in gold or diamond or something (and consequently very valuable), I would name it for myself. If it was a regular, boring planet, I name it for a deity.

I probably wouldn't be very creative in naming a planet. At school when we had to name a planet we made, I named mine "Gallifray" XD Anyway, I would most likely stick to the naming system and name it after Artemis! Goddes of strength, or so etching to that effect.

I would name planet after a Greek god as well but since there are only about 300 of them. Sooner or later you would run out of names. Most likely  People would turn to a numbering system for them. Also, there is about an infinite amount of exoplanets. So be creative!! Someone has to name them all.
