I can't seem to figure out how to configure my new game controller for Zelda.  The snes version "a link to the past" was simple; I just went into the menu and configured it.  The N64 version, is giving me great problems.  I haven't a clue.  I've asked a few people around here but they don't seem to care.  Does anyone know?  Does the game automatically recognize my controller?  If so, why wont it recognize mine?  Its just a regular PC gaming controller, nothing special, nothing cheap.  Just plain and simple.  And this is not simple.  The game says that it supports a controller.  So what the heck?  Anyone have any ideas?  Does anyone around here play Zelda with a controller?  What'd you do to make it work? Pleeeeease someone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It might have something to do with the type of controller you have. Are you able to configure it with the 1964 emulator?

Also this should be in Retro Game Room forum so I'm moving it there.

ShiningLightningBolt : Please don't reply to help threads saying "I don't know" It's ok not to know how to fix a problem, just don't spam the thread with a reply like that. Ok?

servant2012 : As of now, the MUPEN emulator does not allow for controller configuration. It's set up to "default"

If you want to change controls for N64 games. You need to use the 1964 emulator. Configure the controls by double-clicking the game screen.

Copy that. 1964 is the way to go, works fine   Thanks for replying guys.  Hopefully I won't run into too many more questions about this stuff, but I'm comforted knowing there's some good people out there to help.  Too bad we can't give Viz to each other....
