This is my first attempt leave a comment about it

If I had to choose I would say choose riolu since it is normally not a pokemon that starts as a starter or not even near the start of games.

I would vote for Pichu because it will be intresting having an Electric Pokemon as a Starter.

 I'll say Riolu because it would be cool to start with a pokemon that isn't from that region.

You choose Riolu as you starter pokemon
suddenly you notice a strange pendant on riolu's neck that seems very familiar to you
as your leaving Prof. oak says, wait don't you want your starter kit?
you ask whats a starter kit?
Prof. oak replied:
Its a package with:
5 potions
5 pokeballs
1 repel
and a full heal

you take the package as you head out you start to think about the great Journey you have ahead of you

You decide to go and train up your beloved Riolu, yet something is wrong, as you are thinking your tackled by a Lovable EeveE and your best friend April. (Picture Below ^^) Rilou seemed scared as he hid behind a tree trying to maneuver to the right stop where he can stop what he thinks is a evil trainer attack, but as he was creeping in You Grab him, and say Nice try Little Guy.
you and arpil train Rilou and Eevee to the point where you can have a respectable battle
as the battle ended you notice ash scurrying off running away from team rocket
but you notice it isn't just 2 of them, theres a lot more grunts around.
you grab rilou getting ready for a big battle, but they all seemed focus on something else, as soon as they noticed us they ran back on the ship.
you wonder WHAT IS GOING ON TODAY!!!!!


then April makes you a Great Offer

She ask may I come with you to help you
then she thinks a second and Says she made a mistake
then she ask Will you come with me, she said with a big grin.
