Since the town was safe I asked Brawly for a battle. He said it would be his honor but he started looking depressed at the mention of battle.
It was a two on two battle so I chose Aero and Scarlet.

Me: "Aero start of with Wing Attack!"
Brawly: Meditite use Focus Punch!"

The entire time Brawly kept ordering a Focus Punch but Aero would ruin the attack with his own. After Meditite fainted he got a bit more serious.

Brawly: "Makuhita use Arm Thrust!"
Me: "Aero counter with Wing Attack then use Gust to push it back!"

The battle was a close call but in the end Scarlet had to win with her Peck attack. Once Brawly gave me the badge I noiced a small grave and realized why he was sad. So I punched him and told him to get his act straight and don't let a sacrifice be in vain. As I was awaiting to get a punch able to KO a Donphan he instead gave me an old TM for Fire Punch and thanked me. This TM is perfect for Scarlet! I spent the rest of the day resting in the Dewford Pokecenter while waiting for May to catch up.

Since May wouldn't show up I went inside the cave and started beating wild Pokemon. After several fainted I managed to get to level 26 but I still had a long way to go so I left a note for May at the gym, telling her that I'd be in Slateport and that she should hurry up. After that I flew to Slateport as quickly as posible while burning any Wingull that got in my way.

Once I got to Slateport I noticed a large amount of smoke in the sky to the north and I felt like it was calling me. Even though I wanted to wait for May I immediately flew there as fast as possible and even flew right by Mauville City. Once I reached the source of the smoke I realized it wasn't smoke it was ash. I was so mesmerized by the lava I didn't notice I was falling until it was too late and I hit the lava. Surprisingly I didn't burn so apparently I was fire and lava proof. All of a sudden the great heat gave me power that felt infinite and I started to change. I was evolving! I grew large red wings on my back that seemed able to create gales stronger than I was able to with my thoughts, I grew small horns that slightly curved on the top of my head, my red eyes changed to look like there was an actual fire in them, and I grew what appeared to be glove like claws over my hands. After taking a few seconds to admire the new look I burst out of the lava and flew so fast I probably broke the sound barrier and just kept going up until I was just below the ozone level. After enjoying the view I flew towards Slateport and landed near the forest. I was trying to figure out how I could blend with my extra limbs and horns when the wings folded into a perfect cape that looked a lot like Lance's and the horns seemed to just vanish, although I could still feel them under my hair. I just walked to the Pokecenter and managed to get a room without arousing suspicion. I told the nurse if anyone asked for me to send them to my room and went to take a nap. That flight took a lot out of me.

"What? But I just started my nap! Whatever you're probably running away again but if you want to go fine."

I then grabbed Wally and flew to Fallarbor Town faster than the speed of sound. That was probably a bad idea considering the first thing Wally did was get sick. Maybe next time I should consider that speed is bad for most people. Yeah that's a good idea... I didn't know people could turn that shade of green. Well looks like he learned the special move puke.
