You know those exp points you get to level up, like getting the points for writing a post (at least that's what I think). Well I thought of a way to get more exp, and that's by playing games. The thing is that you can't just visit the game and exit out, you would have to play for 8-10 minutes,but that would give you 5 exp points. To get 10 you have to do 11-12. To get 15 you have to do 13-14, and the last part you probably already know. The popularity of the game could count too, but the more the popularity the less exp. If you like the Idea you can use it, I bet it'll make Vizzed more fun and enjoyable to play.         




 

Yes as much as that is a good idea... It would in my opinion stop people from posting when you can gain easy exp for basically leaving a game on all night... The reason it's based on posts is because it shows you how much they have added to the site...

Plus as with all things. Just because a user is a high level does not mean they are a good user. They could spam a lot etc.

I have a solution to that problem, if the player leaves the game and stay inactive for 5 minutes. Then the game would automatically close, therefore the player does not gain any exp

unisonic : then how do you tell who is active and inactive... It's all based on emulators that dozens of people could be playing at once.. It would add unnecessary strain on the server for something that i deem unimportant.... 

You always have the highscore competitions.. Or even the time trail/highscore option on the Retro Game Room..

And about the competitions ,the sonic related ones, they seem to always blackout the screen, I could always hear the game, but the screen is always black 

I'm really just trying to help out and make this website better for all users, and I hope I'm not annoying anyone by doing this stuff. Maybe there is something I can come up with like finding games the website. Seriously though, if  there is any problem', I'll stop.

unisonic : Don't worry about it. It isn't an annoyance. This is what happens when someone makes a suggestion thread. While, if it is a good plan idea wise, you will get praise. But you will also have people breaking down how it would work as far as functional. I actually really like the idea. I just am not sure if it can functionally work. This is mainly because the emulators here aren't created here. They are existing emulators that have been programmed by tom to work with the RGR Plugin. If it is possible to monitor when someone is inactive to prevent abuse of the system by leaving a game running for hours, it would probably take tom weeks to get all the kinks out. But like I said, it really is a good idea. I will probably bring this up with David at some point in the future when he is asking us about possible updates. 

Also, as far as the problem you are having with the sonic games, it is because your computer isn't automatically switching it's graphics to 16-bit. So you are getting a black screen. You will have to switch your graphics to 16-bit manually (which how you do that depends on what software you have). But it is a simple process though.

Ok heres the idea for the pause. If u will. what if instead of it closing out what if u mad it so that it just stops giving exp after about 5 min of inactivity. Or increase the time to 20 min. (i have never see anyone on the pot for 20 min) then it would close. Or when u pause the game it doesnt give exp but if the game is left unpaused after 5 min it closes. Hows that
