Ah-ha!  Sorry, but I just couldn't title my thread like everyone else did.  How boring!  (Sorry newbie posters!)

Why platypus?  Well, that's my husband's favorite animal. Let's see if he ever notices this thread and responds.    And no, I'm not going to give him a single hint. Let's just see if he finds it!

Why orange? Absolutely no reason, other than to make people wonder why I put it there.

Anyways, hello to all you gamers.  *waves*

I'm a high school math teacher...one of the few people who gets excited about math!  I probably won't spend near as much time here as I'd like in 4 days, but I'll be around.

You want to know something about me?  Just ask!

I'm also a very conservative Christian, who loves our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Welcome to Vizzed, Singelli. Nice to see you trying to break the mold and also explore the forums. If you have any questions concerning the Vizzed Board feel free to send me a private message. I can tell you you are the only conservative Christian here. *points to self*

Thanks for the welcome, AuraBlaze!  It's pretty fantastic to know that there are other conservative Christians using this site, although I'm probably a bit on the extreme side when it comes to my beliefs.  LOL  The fact that I seem to be in the minority doesn't deter me however.

I'm usually not very great at breaking the mold when it comes to forum boards, but I tried.  haha!  I could have been more creative, but I suppose my goal worked, right?

I've been trying to post in a few threads to put a little of myself out there.  I love being a part of online communities when I can make the time for it.  As I sated, returning to work in four days will make that very difficult (even when I get home every day, I have around 200 papers to grade!), but I will do what I can.

I find the forum board a little overwhelming, but mainly because I've never used one so big, with so many users!

I also noticed that you didn't have one of those 'copy and paste' welcomes.  That's very wonderful and refreshing!  Thanks!

Copy/paste is the last thing many of us --including me-- would want to give for a greeting. I can understand that this forum is a little bit overwhelming --despite the fact that most people who sign up only do so for the Retro Game Room. With some time you will get used to the layout. Best of luck to you when work starts up again --and I have college classes in about 1 week.

Yeah, I've always hated 'copy paste' greetings, and when I get around to feeling comfortable enough to welcome new users to websites, I -never- welcome them that way.  I find it impersonal, boring, and a little insulting.  It's like they welcomed me out of obligation and didn't really care to read my post or make time to return the effort of communication.  LOL

So once again, thank you so very much!  It's certainly a nice way to start my experiences here.

Thanks for the luck...I'm gonna need it! This year is full of crazy changes and I feel like I'll be starting my first year all over again!

What are you studying in college, if you don't mind me asking?

I am currently majoring in Police Science, but I have this supplement a degree in Forensic Chemistry if possible. I hope to work a career in evidence examination --and no, I know this job is nothing like CSI: Miami.

Wow....that does sound like an exciting job though!  I never watched CSI, so no misconceptions there!

I've had a few students that were interested in the forensic sciences, but I don't think I could ever be smart enough for such a job.  I'd rather just take my numbers and logic!

The reason I know some of my students have had an interest in forensic science is because students often come to me and ask me how much math is needed for their desired major.  For your line of work, I have no idea what that might be.  Do you think you can clue me in on how much math you are and will be taking?  That way I can more accurately answer my students in the future.

I do not quite know at this time. I believe I need to reach Math 113 to get into some of the basic courses for Chemistry --though I did in fact just finish Chem 100 this summer. I am really just going along with this as need be.

Yeah, when you said you had to take chemistry, I was figuring there'd be more math involved than I originally thought.  If you have to go very high in chemistry at all, you'd need quite a bit of math, from my knowledge.  I wouldn't quite know though, as I was lucky and got to skip out on most of my core classes while I was in college.  Due to being in two accelerated programs, I took absolutely nothing but math to get my bachelor's.  Talk about a crazy ride!

james44028 : Hehe!  Nah, he never did.  In fact, he hasn't been on this site in forever.

I mean, he accidentally logged  in a while back (computer automated), but he hasn't been on other than that.
