Secondary insomnia means that a person is having sleep problems because of something else, like a health condition, pain, medication they are taking, or a substance they are using. Also you can get insomnia if you have other disorders like sleep apnea and narcolepsy.

I had a case of Insomnia for awhile. Often went like a day and a half with no sleep, especially around mid-terms and such. Depression was a big thing back then too, but now everything has calmed down and I actually sleep. In fact, I've been told I sleep too much(which apparently is yet another sign of depression...)

Ok, I know I'm new here but I'm quite the forum freak and I'd like to please ask you not to spam like that...

edit: I figure I should put something relavent in this post. I know a friend who has suffered from insomnia since about 7th grade. If she sleeps at all during the night it's usually only for a couple hours. I didn't know until she told me though because you really can't tell by looking at her. But I know it's true because I've stayed up to chat with her online all night a couple time. Maybe it has something to do with school, but either way I think people with sleep problems need to try and fix them if them if they aren't working on it already.

Fight Club might be the best direct example of an insomniac portrayed in a movie...other than "Insomnia" but that wasn't too great. I don't know any other books about insomnia other than Fight Club.

idk if thats my problem....im not on any drugs or anything its just soemtimes i stay up for 5 days at a time, and its easy too, i get kinda drowsy at 3:00am and watch adult swim until like 4, then i see the sun and im like totally awake and ready to go skate, lol. and i have an unknown virus or w/e, they dont know what it is, does, or how i got it, but it makes my blood pump twice as fast as regular without damage to my body and so i cant die of heart disease, but unused bloodcells go to my eyes and make them yellow, so whenever i wanna freak little kids out i pull down my eylids and roll my eyes back.........anyway i think the blood is fueling the fire......and the 5 cans of pepsi a day........and the poptarts........

You want wierd. I woke looked at the clock it said 6:20am so i thought i would have breakfast. Made breakfast and begun eatting. Came back in and listened to the radio and the show that was on was the early morning one. i was a little confused and didnt bother about it. Went back ate breakfast had a cup of tea and came back in to my room... Looked at the clock and it said 6:20AM looked at my watch said the same thing. Went back to the other clock and it said 1:00am! I looked at my watch and no doubt it was 1:00am!!!! WTF!! Wierd huh!
