Ok I wanna buy a new netbook. My question is does anyone on here have one, or know which ones are solid. I wanted to stay small and use windows. I like the hp mini 1000 and the sony vaio p. Thanks

I have only researched the HP Mini 1000.
The memory on netbooks is VERY limited. The load times are extremely slow. The screen is hard to read. But, if you insist on getting a netbook, get the solid state drive version. Less memory, but better and newer technology.

Unless you are very young as in about 12, it CAN make you go blind from extreme eye-strain.

I would strongly reconsider into getting a notebook or a laptop. A cheap laptop is an Acer. They aren't high performance but if you want something LIKE a netbook that is only a bit bigger and nearly as light and only costs about $300. I would go against getting a netbook because all computers strain your eyes. Small screens strain your eyes. Together, it can strain your eyes so much that it makes you go blind.

If you want something that is like a netbook, as cheap as a netbook, and can't make you go blind, go for an Acer laptop.

Personally, I hate HP systems, as I've had nothing but trouble with them.

over here in australia the DOA rate on acer is like the highest of all brands. random

In all honesty, ACER systems work pretty good.. the amount of negative reviews overwhelms other brand because well, they sell a lot more due to their cheaper nature. I know what I'm doing with computers, I've never had an ACER conk out on me.
