Looks like all the games for the NHL are going to be in the conference.

If that is the case, then who does this benefit the most? (I don't follow the NHL that much to know for certain).

Oldschool41 : It probably doesn't mean too much. Usually the games with the other conference don't mean as much. You really have to play well against your own division. I didn't see the exact schedule, but those games might mean even more this year. And on another note, where does everybody think that Luongo will go? Because of this stupid lockout, I forgot about the whole goalie situation that Vancouver has.

The reason that they did that was so that there would be enough games to determine a ranking for the Playoffs. This way they don't have to move around as much and can squeeze in more games... unless you are the Jets, in which case you are screwed because they didn't restructure the divisions.

The Penguins have open to the public practice sessions all week, and I have three days off after tomorrow. If it is possible, we are going down to watch them for awhile. If I do, I will be sure to take some pictures and post them for you all.

Well the first games are gonna start on Saturday at 3:00. Happy that i will get to see Ottawa play. Hoping they don't lose to Winnipeg though.

I'm really glad to see Hawks players in camp and skating around. Too bad they start with a crazy 10 out of 12 games on the road. I guess I shouldn't complain TOO much about the cruddy start to the schedule. I should just be happy there's hockey lol

Ok, so I got to go to Penguin's training camp today and I took a LOT of pictures. Here are some of the ones that I uploaded to Facebook. Shame the glass makes them a bit hazy.

Just going to do them as links because of how big they are:

Fleury and Vokoun

Listening to Bylsma

Crosby is there in the middle (just right of the glass seam)

Crosby bouncing the puck

Coach Byslma talking with James Neal

We are going back tomorrow for a scrimmage game they will be having that is free to the public, so I will be posting more later.

Can't complain about the 0-2 start for the Flyers I watched the highlights and I do agree the the first disallowed goal was pretty weak. The puck was going in and Miller had no idea where it was. The bump from Hartnell didn't cause the goal.

The second goal that was "disallowed" was one of those quick whistle sort of situations. That happens to just about every team in the league at least once every game or 2. Even if both goals were scored the end result would be the same.

Can't watch the Calgary game but we're up 1-0 which is nice. Don't know if we'll keep the lead though.

Sorry about that Calgary game, though it was nice to see  the Sharks play well again.

But we all know why I am here... the Penguins had an amazing weekend. I wasn't able to watch the first game since I was at work, but I got to listen in on the radio (which is almost better because I hate NBC announcers). The game against the Rangers last night was just awesome and I am very happy that Vokoun did so well in net.

Apparently I doth gloat too soon... wow the last two games... just... wow. We lost to the Jets... the JETS! But it's okay, we can come back again. Toronto and Winnipeg have some good talent this year, I will admit that.

I have to say that I am still impressed with how well the Sharks have been doing, and it makes me incredibly sad that we can't catch their games here.

Elara : Not sure where you are or anything, but at least where I am, Center Ice is free for now. It's awesome to be able to watch every single game. So our defense still is having a little trouble, (mostly Kindle) but I'm feeling better about us  now. But these injuries are killing us. Already short handed on defense, and we have lost three of our top six. Ericsson, White, and Coliacavo (how do you spell that?). And Philly exploded on offense yesterday. We'll see if they can sustain that.

looks like anderson is gunna have a good year for ottawa.

lightning are going to have a great year with lindback in net.

islanders could surprise some people by sneaking into the playoffs.

sharks and blackhawks are hot.

washington will miss the playoffs.

dallas will make the playoffs.

these are my predictions.

we will see how they will play out.

there are so many goalies that the leafs could have signed... instead they stuck with a sure fail.

there are teams with really good backup goalies... instead, toronto went with guys who wont win.

forget luongo, get somebody who they can afford, and is legit, like one of ottawas goalies, stlouis has good goalies, vokun was available, and plenty others.

bobq: I have no idea why they didn't try for one of those goalies. They could have had a somewhat legit chance at something, but they need a goalie to do it. Disappointing for them. So has Ovi scored yet? From when I last checked, he had one or two points.

lol at the has ovi scored yet comment.

ovi scored against the leafs, but leafs won that game.

ovi can be compared to kovalev in his earlier years.

he was clearly the most dominant player on the ice when he was at his best, but when he got the big contract, he started to slack, because all he cared about was the money.

bobq : Maybe, but if that is true, it would be very unfortunate. He has the skill to be one of the greatest players ever, but I don't think last years' defensive style coach helped, but Oates (that's the new coaches name, right?) doesn't seem to be helping that.

So what's going to happen with the Canucks' goalie situation? I thought that they should have stayed with Lu anyway, but why are they playing him so much? It seems that they are just getting themselves in a worse situation.
So looking at the standings, and from watching them, Tampa looks like the team to beat. They have been playing really well. And in the west, it would be Chicago. They played such an awful game against Calgary, though. Emery was the only player that came out after the second period. Hope they cool down though.

So anybody think that Montreal is a true contender? Haven't seen them, but they are doing pretty well in the standings.

I really like ghallager on montreal.

price has stepped up his game again to.

I think montreal could squeek into the 7th or 8th spot.

I think the canadian team that will go the farthest into the playoffs though is ottawa.

if they can prove that they can be stable without spezza, then they will make the playoffs.

spezza will come back slowely, but when he is fully healthy, he is a beast.

he always was better than heatley in my opinion.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
