boy nintendo : Double clicking works on most RGR emulators. The N64 emulator MUPEN does not allow for control configuration on the plugin as of now. Hopefully in the future they will fix that. So if you want to change controls on N64 you have to use the 1964 emulator.

I believe that if you set up your controls on the 1964 emulator and then switch over to the mupen emulator it will keep your control scheme that you set in 1964. So you can still set controls in games that only work with the mupen emulator
