So here's a lil' discussion thread about Dark Cloud, an RPG for the PS2. It was one of the first games for the PS2 and I personally enjoyed the game. It was followed by Dark Cloud 2 that wasn't as good as the first in my opinion but still enjoyable.
There hasn't been any thought about Dark Cloud 3 for PS3 since I guess Level-5 (the makers of Dark Cloud) must have their hands full with White Knight Chronicles, Inazuma Eleven and Professor Layton. But White Knight Chronicles could be sorta considered a spiritual successor.
So enough of the description, what are your thoughts on the game ? Know it ? Love it ? Chat about anything Dark Cloud-related.

Here's a link to the Wikipedia article for the first game for those who don't know the games :

I am surprised that someone actually remember dark cloud. Not many people i know played it.
I remember dark cloud being my favourite game on the ps2 (except for jak 2 and ratchet and clank 3) and i really like the weapon system with the upgrade and the need to repair weapons and drink water (or walk in a puddle...whatever you preferred) while rebuilding the town as people wanted it so you could get extra crap. I also maxed toans chronicle sword stats. Sad part though...the disc broke while i was doing the bonus dungeon (demon shaft) so i never fully finished the game.

I haven't played dark cloud 2, but from what i have seen i think that the gameplay looks better. The weapon system looks better and they got rid of pointless characters (xiao, goro and ungaga) so you only have to focus on two. Unfortunately i really hate the main character (i believe that his name was max). He feels really wimpy! Classical jrpg syndrome.

About dark cloud 3...do not make it. As i see it, level 5 will only screw it up!!! Let them continue on professor Layton x phoenix Wright crossover

I have played both Dark Cloud and Dark Cloud 2. I really liked Dark Cloud and it was my favorite game for a long time. After a few years of wanting to play it, I found Dark Cloud 2 not that long ago. It was ok, but Dark Cloud was way better imo.

I have only played a small portion of Dark Cloud, but from what I had played of it I had enjoyed it greatly. Now only if I knew what happened the disk.
