HIM on suomalainen, viisihenkinen rockia ja metallia soittava yhtye. Yhtye itse kuvailee musiikkiaan ”love metallic”, kriitikot usein alternative rockiksi, hard Rockiksi, goottirockiksi, metallic tai popiksi. Bändin genreä on vaikea määrittää lähinnä yhtyeen tasaisen musiikillisen tyylivaihtelun vuoksi. Tosin suurin osa yhtyeen tuotannosta on yhdistellyt raskassointisia kitaroita popahtavin melodiakierroin. HIM saavutti ensimmäisenä suomalaisena yhtyeenä Yhdysvalloissa kultalevyn albumillaan Dark Light (2005).[1] Yhtye on myös myynyt hopeaa muun muassa Isossa-Britanniassa Love Metal -albumillaan, sekä Yhdysvalloissa Venus Doomilla. HIM on kaikkien aikojen kaupallisesti menestynein suomalaisyhtye. HIMin levymyynti on karkeasti arvoituna noin seitsemän ja kymmenen miljoonan kappaleen välillä.[2] Yhtyeen johtohahmo on laulaja Ville Valo.

It's a good idea at face value, however, companies will then have to advertise their products and websites and such elsewhere (a.k.a. In other forms of advertising). There would be a lot more ads on radio stations, more bill boards, maybe even MORE YouTube marketing. I'd have to say it would mess up the advestising "balance" that we have right now.

I've thought about this many times and I think that instead of having commercials the companies would pay to product the shows and would have more product placement. For example every time a character traveled anywhere they would show what kind of car it was. Or the characters would be going out to eat at Olive Garden and even order actual meals off the menu. The ads would be gone but the companies and products would go away.

I agree completely I think it would mess up sales and big business and small ones too because they wouldn't be able to show their cheaply made commercials, but it would also affect the home for instance what if you are watching your show and you decide I want some snacks but I can't miss this you have no break in between to get your snack also it would take out the suspense factor on certain shows/movies where they cut off when it gets to an important scene where you are dying to know what is happening.

I think that shows have commercials because the people that be making the commercials pay the owners of the show money to put they commercials on air and stuff.

Without commercials, T.V would be extremely problematic, being very addictive, and people would never come back to work because they won't know when their shows would come on. Causing them to never leave their house, never going to work, loosing jobs, less order, end of the world.

So yea, As annoying as Ads are, you need them on T.V.

I would be happier that there are no ads on t.v but might get annoying to see the same ads everywhere I go.

Yeah, the general idea to ME for a commercial is to run and go to the bathroom or get a soda or something. So apart from making the T.V. stations money, which is important, commercials are important for breaks.

I usually use my computer or Netflix to stream TV shows onto my TV, so I don't really have ads, and when I watch cable, I have everything Pre-Recorded, so I just skip over them.

I just pause when I need to urinate.

I would not get too affected by it, if it ever happens. I would miss the Super Bowl commercials, and the E-Trade commercials, but there is always YouTube. XD

Well, if TV didn't have any commercials, nobody would know what McDonalds, Subway, and all that stuff is.

I find it annoying that a show that is on tv for an hour is only actually 40 minutes long so it takes 50% longer to watch anything I want to watch on tv
Because of this, I have given up watching tv and watch the shows I want streamed onto my laptop, which I have connected to my tv
There are adverts on these websites too but AdBlock plus means I don't see any of them

Occasionally, there will be a program I want to watch on "normal" tv in which case I will either record it and watch it fast forwarding through the adverts or I will get it on "catch up tv" from the station's website

I think the importance the companies advertising and the tv companies place on adverts during shows was shown when a technology was developed to record tv shows while pausing to miss out the adverts
It didn't last long thanks to the pressure from the tv companies and companies spending vast amounts of money on adverts, then more money to have them aired on tv
It is quite a simple thing to ask a tv to pause during the adverts as they use something called dynamic compression during adverts (which annoys me as well because one of the results of this is that the adverts are a lot louder than the tv show)

As mentioned before ads would be everywhere, many people would not be aware of fast-food.

We actually have a TV station here that doesn't play ads during shows/movies.
And to that effect it effects me because I don't have to watch the ads xD

But other stations that do play commercials, if they didn't have them a lot of business would lose money I guess, so the only people it would effect is them.
I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't care if they stopped showing them.

Without TV commercials how would stations pay for the shows we enjoy?,answer they couldn't. And also commercials are good for intermissions between shows.
