so when i woke snorlax up, i KOed him with a critical hit before i could catch him and i didnt wanna reset my save cuz i hadnt saved in a few hours. so is there any way to get snorlax now that he 'wandered back to the mountains'?

Nope there might be another area where you get  the snorlax but the snorlax cannot reappear if that's what your thinking and I think there is one more place where you can catch it but I am not sure it is a pretty fun game and I bet you can get a better pokemon than snorlax, maybe a magikarp or something. Magikarps can be a real killer with that splash attack, especially when they use it and they hurt themselves, you wouldn't want to fight a trainer with one of those, no sir re bob. But you could always get another pokemon like Dragonite or something.
