Not sure about NES... but as for PS1 that system has all the best games ever made I think. Tons of great classic titles. I like:

There's a ton more but I haven't had a chance to play one since I was a kid, miss those days

PS1 - you've got to find either Resident Evil or Silent Hill. Classic horror genre type games. Really fun to play in the dark at night. If those kinds of games give you scare at all.

There are far too many of them to take note of here, but I've recently realized that PSX emulation is possible on my computer.. so I've been dabbling in that, finding games that I had only read about in magazines and what not.. and others that I'd only touched demos of.. it's quite fun!

Right now I'm playing Suikoden II, Bust-A-Groove 2 and Tomba.

Wow for the nes the list will be too long,... but you could start with the megaman series, zelda, bionic commando (you should check the remake its awesome), world cup (the vs mode was hilarious on the rocky field), and SMB3 the best nes game.

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon is an amazing game. It's not too long but it's really just great. I remember playing it when i was 4. I recently installed PJ64 just to play it. I was heartbroken when i was told by one of the members of the emutalk community that no emulator can play M.N.S. Goemon properly because it's done so well.
