Water Gun is one of the weakest Water attacks you could possibly have.

I think the damage all depends on the level and defense of your opponent. If its level is far beneath yours, it'll be super effective. If the opponents level is higher, it's likely to deal less damage.

I would get Surf or Waterfall instead.

Well this question cannot really be answered as simply as you might of thought. First is the factor of Pokémon types, depending on whether the attack will be super effective or not very effective. The other factor is your and the opposing Pokémon's stats, all of the stats will play an important role in the damage of the attack

just like ses said. it also depends on squirtles-wartortles splc attack stat and sense it is a stab move(a stab move is when a pokemon uses a move that matches its type, it will make that move stronger) it depends on who it is versing too. so it really depends.
