I was on G-Y-R and guess what? It detected malware being installed on my computer! One of the ads is a bad ad. A malware ad. This has GOT to change! The whole "Great,free,and safe ROM site" thing will be blown if this ad isn't removed. I don't know what ad it is because,being the coward i am,i fled the site as soon as i saw it.

remember, you yourself have said you get virus from time to time.
its more likely a tracking cookie or something that activated.
but we do need to know what the ad was to check.
and also dont panic because there is an ad which says that you have a virus and need to get this other antivirus.
its just a scare tactic to make you get it.
so tell me, was it your own antivirus that said about a virus?
im following up all possible leads, because our ad's have been told to us their safe, but if theres a chance their not i will investigate

Nononono, that is an ad, it is not REAL it is completely fake. They want you to click their product so you buy it from them. Trust me, adbright using malware when it is one of the 3 top used advertising places on the web I highly doubt it. I ran into the same ad it is deceiving and I want to report that ad for scaring people. There is nothing to be worried about it is just a scare tactic nothing more nothing less. GYR will not infect your computer, the ads wont either, if it shows that stupid ad scanning ignore it it's fake.

If a website is reported to contain melware, then it will popup in both FF and chrome. I think it goes for if it loads content from other sites.

You will be 100% safe, especialy with chrome. Next time it happens, take a screenshot.

My buddy had the same problem, it was his first time visiting the site and Avast popped up saying it detected a trojan. He had just clicked on the Playstation ISO link. Sounds kind of fishy to me.

First rule of avast! it is OVER-protective.

Half the time it detects viruses, they are NOT viruses.
Example:
Long time ago I played Maplestory. One of tha hacks I used for the game came in an installer format that was very old and GENERALLY used for Malware. Avast said it was malware. It was not.

So, avast! is very very careful, sometimes you have to trust your gut whether the file is a virus or not. Half the time, ignore avast!

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.
