I'm only saying this because they are 3 main series (Yes, Shadow was main series) games from 3 of the different eras (Well, kind of. Well, Heroes wasn't Dreamcast either ) and they could've put levels from those 3 games (Even if none of 4's level designs are original, I would've like to have seen Lost-Labryinth Zone). So, Do you think Sonic 3, Shadow and Sonic 4 should've had levels in Generations? If so, what levels?

I thought Sonic 3 WAS represented in the game... unless I got the third level of the game wrong.

Shadow the Hedgehog is a spinoff, and thus was not deserving.

Sonic 4 sucks, and anything put in Generations would have made the game worse.

So no, I think they made the right choices.

legacyme3 : Level 3 is Sonic and Knuckles. Also, Shadow is main series, it explains most of Shadows plot holes from Heroes. Also, if Sonic 4 sucks, why was a level from '06 in the game?

This is why Sonic 3 was not represented... because in actuality it was. Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles WERE originally the same game.

Shadow the Hedgehog is NOT Main Series... no matter how much you want it to be. It's a spinoff. That's like saying that Dirge of Cereberus is a Final Fantasy main series game. It isn't. Doesn't matter how much is explained. It's widely regarded as a spinoff.

As for the last bit... Sonic 06 was unfortunate, and it WAS bad, but the level they chose wasn't horrible. They chose an ok level, ran with it, and made it worth putting in the game. It's entirely possible you'll eventually see some DLC... but it would have skewed the level amount. 3 Genesis Era games, 3 Dreamcast Era games, and 3 next gen era games.

Adding a fourth next gen game wouldn't have been fair, and time constraints probably prevented them from making 2 more levels just to offset the addition of one crappy level.

legacyme3 : Well, most Wiki's (Including Wikipedia I think), fanpages etc. all say Shadow's main series. Just because You don't play as Sonic doesn't necessarily mean it's not main series. Most fans believe Shadow the Hedgehog is a main series title, and I'm sticking to that. if you don't believe so fine, more power to you. Different people think different things about certain items.

As the #1 Sonic fan here, and somebody who has dedicated so much time to the franchise whether it just be plain playing the game or whatever, I can confirm here that Shadow the Hedgehog is NOT a main series game. It is a spin off. In fact, it was actually considered an april fools joke by many at first until SEGA confirmed that it will be a real game. Guns + Sonic = lolwutisthisidoneven.
Anyways, moving from that, yeah, it's not main series, despite actually going and telling the secrets and stuff. SEGA even basically said "Yeah, haha, lets forget this game exists now pls".
ANYWAYS, I didn't find any games in Shadow the Hedgehog worth replaying and stuff, and the only one actually worth it is really close to Crisis City (Westopolis Zone is the name, IIRC).
As for Sonic 3, leggy covered that already. Sonic and Knuckles and Sonic 3 were supposed to be one whole game, until they decided to split it into two due to many reasons. Reason why it ended up being lock on content, considered the first thing that could be considered DLC.
Sonic 4 is just no. It's basically copying each level from other Sonic games. It's like a bad fan game, Nya~.

Even thought leggy is right, and actually I know quite a bit about the original plans for S3@K, they SHOULD of put Ice cap zone from sonic 3 and added a new area for retro. It would have ice cap, something from Sonic CD, and something from 3D blast?
But Crisis City was well done for generations, I never played 06 so I don't know how bad it is, but I likes the zone, very difficult. As for Sonic 4, I have not played that game either, so I can't give an evaluation properly.
