I have always liked college football video games more than the professional ones. I already had NCAA 2003 and 2004, so I decided to get NCAA 2005. To me there is enough change to warrent buying this if you already own 2004.
There are several new features to pretty much every aspect of the game. A major new addition is homefield Advantage. So, if you go into The Swamp (the toughest stadium to play at according to the game) to play the Gators, the fans will be very loud. I went there just to see the effect, the screen shakes, and your wide recievers are unable to hear aduibles sometimes. For example I reversed the direction of my FB option, and my recievers didn't switch sides, so my QB and FB were hung out to dry. Also, because of the crowd, your HB may be more likely to fumble the ball, your WR more likely to drop it, etc.
You can now edit any teams roster, from 1A to 1AA to historic teams. So, I could take Yale and make them a powerhouse. You also can chose an offensive and defensive captian.
The gameplay feels a lot more realistic. You can now control your mascot and fan celebrations.

All in all this game is pretty good.

Graphics a 9

Sound a 9.6 A few more fight songs for created teams would be nice, but the commentary is pretty well done and the fight songs they have sound very good.

Gameplay a 9.3 They have added a few things here to kepp things interesting, the control is pretty tightly done.

Presnetation 9.7 the menus are nice, and you can really feel the college atmosphere, the crowd really gets into the game, just feels like a college game should.

Game life a 10 you can do a franchise with several teams, you can have endless multiplayer matches. You can create your own prefect team, quite a bit to do. I played 2004 til the day before I got 2005.

Final 9.3

Recommended for those that like football in general, unless they despise college football.
