hey every1 i was wondering if any1 else has the same problem i experience on a daily basis, that be the internet just randomly crashing on you while viewing a web page on a daily basis anywhere from 5 to 10 times a day? Like i could be on the web viewing a web page on this site or on youtube or yahoo and then BOOM out of no where the page crashes without warning and you get the error message saying "sorry but the webpage closed down due to some unknown error" or something of that nature. Is it caused from internet congestion?, the type of pc your using or from your modem? This happens every day whether in the morning or in the afternoon or at night its just random when it happens, any info on this would be helpful thank you

IE gets infected by viruses quite easily.
There is a simple solution, use another browser.

FireFox would be my recommendation, its layout is most like IE than any others, but there is also Opera, Safari and Chrome. All equaliy as good for what you need.

yeah, IE is very bugged and when it detects a virus it shuts off. it's flaws make that happen a lot. If you want a simple browser, go with chrome. firefox can be better with customization and opera is the best with customization.

Yeah, IE is fail. I've recently switched from FireFox to Opera, but I'd recommend either one of them.

Firefox crashes kind of a lot but not as much as IE and it's good about starting you right back off where you were when it crashed (which may not be a good option to follow if you think it was a site you were viewing that caused the crash).

So yeah, the solution is really just not to use IE, haha. Glad it's been covered already.

Yeah, that's why I wound up switching. If I decide I don't like Opera I'll likely go to an old version of FireFox. FF2 was good.

Never happend to me.
Also dont forget its not the programs fault. Its just like you can install winXP and it'll never crash on you.. untill you start installing things.

FF is the same with all the addons and stuff.

I mentioned FF rather than chrome because chrome dosnt render alot of sites properly i've found, and its password storing kinda sucks. Only stores 1 password per domain.

Its interface is also slightly different from what we've ever seen. Opera and FF are most like IE i think.

I guess if you just installed it you likely don't have many addons, but yeah, removing addons can help pick up the pace on it a bit. I've heard a good number of people complaining lately that FF3 is slow, so maybe it'll be fixed up a bit in future patches, who knows?

It's definitely a good browser regardless. Glad you're liking it.

If you have limited memory on your computer, then refer to this thread, and scroll down to my massive post, it's got a fairly detailed review of a rough estimate of how browsers preform with different memory.

To be honest, IE sucks. The main reason for it is because it is basically used for main functions. IE=Windows Explorer. Yeah. The main reason for IE being insecure is that viruses can easily trick IE into thinking that you said it was OK to download/install a virus and/or malware. For dial-up i recommend that you use Opera10. For high speed i recommend the following:

Chrome

Opera10

Safari

Yeah, pretty much any browser(that is alive) is better than IE. I think Firefox is pretty good but its pretty slow.
