There have been many controversies surrounding Pokémon such as the porygon incident and the lavender town theory but is Pokémon really that bad.pokemon is a family friendly game for children(or adults)of all ages and is one of the most popular games in the the world so I am asking you people who have taken the time to read my thread to spread the word.nothing in this life is perfect people have made mistakes if no one made mistakes nothing would ever be accomplished

No one is worried that a game like Pokemon is violent. There are some violent things in the game but I wouldn't be worried that anyone is going to be "corrupted" because they played a video game like that. People need to lighten up.

Its all just a huge conspiracy man, if people believe that the pokemon creators and Nintendo are trying to kill of their fan base that's just crazy. Why would they wanna kill the people who are buying their products... They're not cause that would be bad for business.

There is no such violence in Pokemon, besides Pokemon Creepypasta. That has some more violent culture to it. So, no worries.

This game really isn't violent unless you don't like something attacking another thing.  In this game's case, you could argue that some of the attacks are very harmful, but it really is not "violent".

I can't that someone would think that it is violent.. Compared to other games out their pokemon is the most non violent game out their. The only reason some one would suggest the game is violent would be to rustle your jimmies.

Certain religious sects would have you believe that Pokemon is the work of the devil and is meant to deteriorate society as a whole, including making us more violent. That is, of course, complete bunk and anyone that makes such claims should never be taken seriously.

Pokemon is in no way violent. No Pokemon ever dies, they are just knocked out much like a boxer might be knocked out in a bout. There are little if any guns or weapons of a lethal nature showcased in the video games and the special abilities of the Pokemon are rarely if ever directed at humans. Instead, Pokemon are largely shown using their powers outside of battles for the benefit of humans. Most of the attacks used by Pokemon are not even overtly violent in nature. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have been shot with a water gun on numerous occasions. Do you know what happened? I got wet.. That is all.

Call of Duty is a violent game. Witcher 2 is a violent game. Pokemon is a game of strategy with elements of competitive fighting. There is little to no violence there.

No pokemon in is current form is far from violent. But if they were to make a slightly more "realistic" game on a console system then yes it would be violent. But I've always thought that when my jolly ev trained heracross hit's someone with his megahorn after a sword dance their dead without a doubt. So maybe it wouldn't hurt to be more violent, kids might not like it but I sure would. But people my age aren't the target audience for a reason tho I guess.

I don't think Pokemon is violent to the point where it would influence someone to use sunny day or rain dance on someone as an attack. As it is now it doesn't even show a attack even effecting a Pokemon physically, ( unless you playing Pokemon Stadium) so I really don't see any violence in the game.

I wouldn't say Pokemon is necessarily violent. Unless, of course, you take into consideration that the entire purpose is to subjugate and force living creatures to fight until one is too injured to go on while you shout orders at it. The poor things are so stressed out they can only remember 4 things at a time. You control everything they do. When they mate, when their injuries are healed, what they eat, even when they grow. The Pokemon will rise up and overthrow their human oppressors!!! Mark my words!!! They will RISE!!!

Marked by, acting with, or resulting from great force: a violent attack.

Seems to me that Pokemon is very violent, just doesn't depict consequences of the violence. A thunderbolt would usually end with a animal laying dead on the ground, but pokemon can shrug it off. That's what some people might have a problem with, extreme violence without real consequences or actions.

Well, in the only part I have seen violence in Pokémon is on the Pokémon Special manga but... In the anime, or the games, there is not any violence. Especially in the games, where they just show the effects of the moves, and how they hit, but there is no blood or something that you can call violent. In that case, they should call Ben 10 or all those programs actually transmitted in Cartoon Network violent, and they do not make any critics about it. In my opinion, it is just a marketing competition. u.u. Or in any case, to make it more comparable with the time Pokémon was released, we can use Batman as an example, or even Tom and Jerry.

By the way, I am really sorry for my TERRIBLE english u.u... It is not my original language.

It's not violent enough to merit any rating above Everyone. StarFox Adventures was rated Teen for blood. I played that game start to finish more times than I can count and I didn't even notice blood until I looked closely for it. When you hit an enemy a very small bit of reddish mist appears near the strike. I suppose they call that blood which makes it a slightly more violent game.

The Japanese Pokémon is a bit perverted and the messages are a bit questionable, but I wouldn't call it violent.

The only way I think that Pokémon might be a bad influence is that it encourages animal fights (ex. Growth vs. Ursaring) besides that there's not really anything bad besides people freaking out about Ghastly.

Pokémon violent? Not at all! Compared to all of those other games out there... Pokémon is family friendly final. It is rated everyone and is something I started playing when I was seven. Pokémon is fine and I love it

The only thing related to Pokémon that is violent is the special manga and it is for teens and up, Pokémon is called a lot of bad things raciest,pro-Nazi/Satan, teaches kids evolution( which is a good thing), But if you look it up or watch a video about it like game theory and then you find out they are all wrong or semi-wrong.
