Dwarf Fortress is a strategy/adventure game by Bay 12 Games. If you haven't played it, you should check it out. There are two game modes - Fortress mode, and Adventure mode. In Fortress mode, you order you little dwarves to mine, build, and survive as long as you can, while trying not to have too much fun. Each dwarf has its own likes, dislikes, beliefs, relationships, and even look. They work, rest, eat, drink, and party at their own leisure.
Adventure Mode focuses on a single creature which you control, and you go, well, adventuring. You can go explore old fortresses and what have you. You also can be something other than a dwarf - Humans, Elves, and Goblins are all possible (I think). If you want to go see how your fortresses old defenses are doing, you can go get yourself impaled on a spike trap you forgot about.
The entire thing was made by two guys. Out of that, one guy did all of the programing himself. And you have to realize, EVERYTHING about each world is generated automatically each time, including all of the people you meet, the lore, the kingdom, the entire world.

Ahm, I know I was a bit long-winded there, but the point I'm making is, I don't see a Dwarf Fortress thread on here at all. I don't know if any other Vizzed Users even play. So, here you go - a discussion thread for Dwarf Fortress. I really don't care what you talk about, as long as it is DF related.

I tried DF once, I really really wanted to play and enjoy it, but the interface is too hard to understand! You need so many external programs running at the same time (some of which don't work for me) and it has a very steep learning curve. Maybe some day...
