Noticed that this thread hasn't been made yet.

So, Capcom has decided to go and bring out their newest addition to the Devil May Cry series... Except it's nothing like it. Look up a few videos and you'll see what I mean.

They're creating a reboot, and a horrible one at that. One of my biggest complaints?
The character is NOTHING like Dante at all. By that, I mean by the way he looks AND by how he acts. They just basically killed the series with that.

People love the DMC series because of who Dante is, because of the action, and because of the rock/metal music. Seeing the videos of the gameplay, it's shown that they at least kept the action all good. If the videos were actually real instead of stupid YouTube fans faking the stuff, the music took a huge nosedive and went straight to dubstep.
Yeah, I'll bet you will have your TV muted while you're playing this game, if you buy it that is.

Reason behind all this? Ninja Theory. The leader said in an interview that he wanted to make it appealing to the newer generation. Newer Generation = Drug loving, dubstep obsessed teenagers. Bad move.

The only way I'll be getting this game is if it's a gift where I'm not the one buying it, or I am the one buying it because they actually did something good to it.

So, what're the opinions from you guys? Hate this game so far just as much as I do?

My fiance picked up the latest copy of Game Informer, and the article talked about the changes made to the games, especially Dante's appearance. The story is actually supposed be very good. I don't know obviously, but we'll give it a shot. If we hate the music, we'll probably mute it like you said.

Right, I know that the character is Dante, but what I meant is it pretty much doesn't feel like it's Dante due to how badly they changed him and all.

I don't know if I will be getting this game either unless my bf gets it for
me. I don't like Dante's new look at all. Neither does my bother. If I were

As far as the last DMC preview I saw Dante Still had that rebellious devil may care attitude. He obviously is still one bad dude. I'm not a fan of the whole style change, just because like everyone else I'm used to the old Dante. If they keep everything else but the wardrobe true to roots, I think I can live with it. As long as they don't change him going all demon and murdering everything in his path with rebellion and ebony/ ivory it should be a very sick game like the rest.
