My laptop no longer can access the internet. I either need to get it fixed or use a different computer. It is terrible problem seems to have been solved, but I'm not sure for how long...anyway, new topic for this thread: post here if you have internet problems or talk about internet problems of the past.

I feel almost silly, however, that gave me a good idea for this thread. First off, someone fixed it already, which is weird because everyone in my family was yelling at me for complaining about it yesterday. some times my modem loses its connection on a random basis. whay io usually have to do is unplug the modem to let it reset itself, like a discharge then re-connect the cables to it then BAm, my net resumes back to where it was before it messed up and lost its connection. I also checked to make sure my firewall wasnt blocking the modem or limiting its connection, i even called the internet company(Comcast) and they checked it out and said it was working lol so i dont know why it does that, but glad you fixed your laptop ziggy so welcome back

Oh, I did a lot of stuff and nothing seemed to work, but obviously it got fixed...somehow. Also, I now hate Toshiba, because they almost charged me $35 for a troubleshooting phone call (as in I ended the call before it happened).

Once,my AVG security updated and it made my wireless card useless. I had to de-grade my AVG. But the good news is that the new version of it isn't the one that messed me up. But that still sucks. Have wireless but have to be wired...it sucked...even though it was only for about 2 hours

lol my computer is only 8 months old. Too bad it had a really bad virus and i had to delete everything on my computer. My computer is infected again. It isn't bad yet but it'll get there if i don't do something soon.My AVG anti-virus won't delete the "Warnings"on my computer so that's why i have viruses. Stupid AVG free. I so need to switch to Panda anti-virus.They're the best.

looks like you need ultimate boot cd, use that, delete those virii, all good.

on topic, internet problems.
the ether port on the lappy wasnt working properly, wouldnt hold a stable connection and kept dropping out.
had to spend 5 hours over 2 days to HP to convince them that it wasnt either the software or one of my other peices of hardware the was stuffed.
so they took it, looked at it, and replaced the port, because surprise surprise, i was right, and it was broken.
