The other day, I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I dont know who has been there or plans to go, but in my opinion, the best wing is the European Artists Galleries (circa Renaissance). The topics were limited to: the holy family, saints/cardinals, Greek/Roman gods and goddesses, or scenes from the Bible. (The only one that didn't follow that format was View of Toledo by El Greco)

There was one technique I noticed to be popular, and indeed for good reason. It made everything glow with, for lack of better term, life. It was oil paints on copper, and it was most impressive. You can see it here in The Expulsion from Paradise by Charles Natoire.

So does anyone else have Met experiences? Favorite techniques of masters? Please share!
