Okay, I'm not entirely sure how the community sees this, I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen members use this before. After failing catching Pokémon throughout the years, I've found a slight flaw with the local save system (when playing with the RGR plug in). When battling a Pokémon, and ready to attempt at catching it, click F2 to save the game. Now, throw the ball. If it misses, F4; if it catches, even better. You can repeat this as long as it takes to catch the Pokémon. A slight warning though, I wouldn't use basic poke balls on the legendaries, it will get highly annoying and lengthy. Anyways, this will help costs of poke balls, as well as catching entei/suicine/raikou. WORKS FOR ALL GBA POKÉMON GAMES.

That's the way that I do it was well but its kinda like the old save before u battle it trick were if u don't catch it then shut off and turn back on and reload the game crept this way u don't have the hole down time so if u think about it its not really that time consuming!!!

stigs : I actually tried that one day on a different game other than this one and it failed. It kept doing the same thing before I saved so this is really not true. It could maybe you have a lot luck when throwing the pokeballs.

After about 5-50 Ultras, which is only about 5 minutes (well, through my controller set-up). Well, this is mainly for legendaries. However, for runaways, you are going to need a lot more patience unless you already depleted some of their HP beforehand. But regardless, it really doesn't take much time with emulation and speed-up.

Like someone else said, it's most likely predetermined if you'll catch the Pokemon, but I don't know how it resets with the saved state. The state we're saving is of the encounter with that Pokemon. In my opinion, there should be no reason why repeating the exact same moment should cause a different result. But hey, whatever works, right? Couldn't go back to catching 'em the old fashioned way now.

I already know about the trick I start using this trick when I was trying to catch all the regis. It still take a lot time even when I use ultra balls. Also this trick barely work on legendary pokemon that run away on in the first turn.

I've used this trick many times. Especially when I was going through Ruby & I was trying to catch the legendarily. I just could not be bothered to catch my Latias the legit way, now that would take a lot of time

Yea, I only do this for shiny Pokémon or legendary if I don't have enough poke balls to catch it manually. Some people might not believe me, but I like the challenge of it, keeps you on your toes .
